Supporting the Cycles of a Woman's Life
Barbara Steif
Saturday, April 12 • 1:00 – 4:00 pm
$45

Come learn how yoga can support you during the ups and downs of the menstrual and post-menstrual phases of your monthly cycle. The Iyengar menstruation sequences specifically support women's physiology and, as always, are grounded in a philosophical balance of rigor and relaxation. Appropriate for women of all levels seeking an informative and introspective afternoon of supported standing poses, forward bends, and breath awareness.

Soften the Stiffness of the Hips
Tonya Garreaud
Saturday, May 31
1:00 – 4:00 pm
$45

The muscles surrounding the hip joints create intelligent movement when they are strong. If these muscles lack flexibility, our range of motion feels limited, creating strain in the knees and ankles and pain in the lower back. Spend an afternoon with asanas that help bring increased suppleness to your hips. Discover the lightness and fluidity in your overall movement once the stiffness in the hips is softened.

“Yoga is changing my life. And I credit the outstanding instruction at the Julie Lawrence Yoga Center for making yoga an integral part of my every day. Julie and the JLYC staff’s passion for yoga, both spiritual and physical, is all pervasive. Infectious, but not dogmatic. They strive for precision, but are non-judgmental. There’s moaning and groaning along side lighthearted laughter. After every 90-minute class, there’s that wonderful feeling of yoga bliss”
