All of the necessary equipment you will need is available in our center, including a changing area if you arrive in street clothes. Most students wear shorts or footless tights and a t-shirt; baggy or loose clothing is not recommended since it hinders the teacher's ability to view your alignment. It's best to allow yourself enough time to arrive and prepare for class so you don't feel rushed. Come with an empty stomach, and let your teacher know if you have any injuries or health concerns so that he or she can guide you appropriately. Building Access: If you are attending a class or workshop in the early morning or on a Sunday, know that it is imperative that you arrive on time as the building is locked. For almost 20 years in taking yoga from the Julie Lawrence Yoga Center, I have dealt with short-term and chronic health issues. No matter what challenges are going on with my body, yoga class has always been the one place where I feel strong and healthy – where I can celebrate what my body can do rather than what it cannot!
